Karpacz – small city in the Jelenia Góra district. Put at the height from 480 up to 885 above sea level at the foot of the Snowball (1602 above sea level m.), in the valley of the river Łomnica and of streams, being tributaries for her.

Tourists attractions in Karpacz

In Karpacz are located many tourist attractions, most important and most well known are:

1. Wang temple – small church built at the turn of XII and XIII age in the Vang town in southern Norway. From the 19th century this church was in Karpacz thanks to efforts of the Fredericka von Reden. After moving to Karpacz people built on a granite belfry, which has the task of sheltering from gusty mountain winds.

2. The museum of Sport and Tourism – is located in the centre of town. Apart from taking exhibit items, has also the task of moving the history of the Karkonosze Mountain region by presenting unique exhibit items in three exhibition: the genesis and the development of tourism into Karkonosze, the development of winter sports and the natural environment.

3. Municipal museum of toys – is located in upper Karpacz and presenting the unique set of toys from all over the world. The collection of a museum is having over 2 000 exhibits which was created at the turn of 200 last years.

4. Snowball – the highest peak in Karkonosze (1602 above sea level) Through the most part of the year there are severe weather conditions, low temperatures, gusty winds and a heavy fall of rain and the snow. The symbol of the Snowball is resembles saucers or rather „-flying plates ” building of a meteorological observatory.

5. Summer coast – located in the centre of Karpacz, on the slope Kolorowa offers downward slopes with coast for lengths of 1060 m, right of summer coast is an all-year-round Alpine bobsleigh with the route of 800 m.

6. Western City Small town – located between Karpacz and Ścięgna, created to the pattern of the American Wild West. It’s possible to meet there the sheriff, more than one cowboy or Indians. Town offers horse riding, mount the mechanical bull or take a few lessons of rinsing gold, all these attractions will cause that for a moment possible is to feel like on the real Wild West.

7. Wild Waterfall – charming nook located in the vicinity of bottom station of the funicular railway to Kopa. Waterfall came into as a result of banking waters of the Łomnica River.

8. Barrier on Łomnica River  – came into in the 20th century after series of disastrous rain and from the flood. Barrier creates a little reservoir of water, in which gathering rocks rolled by the mountain stream – Łomnica. The top of the barrier has 105 m of the length and is built from granite blocks.

9. Raven Rocks – rock formation for heights of 25 m, laid on a right riverbank Płomnica, at present serve enthusiasts of the rock climbing. And from their peak it is possible to admire the extensive view on the Snowball and Karkonosze.

10. Hostel Retreat – one of the most beautiful places in Karkonosze, located above the shore of the Small Pond in the bottom of the glacial pot.

11. „The Bermuda Triangle” that is a place of disturbing the gravity.
